Lead in drinking water

Lead in drinking water is a potential cause of many health issues. Even though the use of lead pipes and lead plumbing in homes has been banned in Switzerland for over 100 years, contamination with this heavy metal can still occur. For example, in older houses where the water pipes are still made of lead. Under no circumstances should lead-containing water be consumed. If you suspect lead in drinking water, you should also avoid using this water for cooking, washing clothes, or dishwashing.
